Security Guard | On-Site Foot Patrol Officer
Job Description:
- Patrol facilities for theft, intrusion, door security and safety conditions
- Respond to alarms (fire, intrusion, etc.)
- May perform fire prevention and control duties
- Perform parking and traffic control
- Prepare reports as required
- Represent Summit Security with a professional, friendly demeanor towards residents and clients
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, basic math skills and communication skills
- Proficient in reading and writing
- Able to walk for up to 8 hours
- Able to handle routine tasks that require identification of problems and solutions
- Able to read and interpret company policies and instructions
- Able to meet schedules and deadlines as assigned
- Able to recognize crises and apply crisis management alarms (fire, intrusion) and follow-up actions
- Able to interact with all levels of internal and external clients, resulting in positive working relationships
- Able to use tact and diplomacy when handling sensitive and confidential information
- Able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and/or overtime as requested
- Possess a valid California driver's license
- Have a clean driving record
- Possess a permanent phone number
- Show proof of one year of verifiable work experience prior to being hired
- Basic computer skills a plus
- Prior experience encouraged but not required

Security Guard | Patrol Officer
Job Description:
- Learn as many 12 routes to and from client properties
- Learn and maintain information for three patrol routes in the first year of their employment
- Keep track of parking regulations, common area enforcement rules and property layout schemes to maximize response times
- Cite and tow vehicles
- Respond to noise complaints
- Occasionally provide employee training and supervision
- Legible handwriting and strong spelling skills
Because Summit requires at least 8 hours of sleep prior to assuming the duties of a patrol guard, employees cannot work another job on the same day they are scheduled to work a patrol shift.
Job Requirements:
In addition to the Summit job requirements listed above, applicants must:
- Be at least 25 years old
- Have lived and driven in San Diego for at least 2 years
- Have a good sense of direction, excellent memory and strong organizational skills
- Have a clean DMV printout
